Re-HEAT Program 2012

Presented by Serenity Home Health Care

MIAMI – Mere minutes after beating the Orlando Magic 90-78 on the HEAT home court, HEAT players Norris Cole, Terrel Harris and Mickell Gladness visited the Chapman Partnership facility to deliver food and serve meals to over 400 residents of the facility as part of the Re-HEAT program. The Re-HEAT program which was started four years ago, donates left-over food from the arena to feed some of Miami’s most needy population.

Through the assistance of presenting sponsor, Serenity Home Health Care alongside supporting partner, Levy Cares, to date, over 20,000 pounds of food have been distributed to Re-HEAT beneficiaries, the Miami Rescue Mission and the Chapman Partnership.

Instead of serving assists, HEAT players and sponsors served barbeque chicken breast, corn, and macaroni & cheese to residents. “You know there are tough times right now, it’s good to see the smile on their faces when they’re getting a good meal.”, said HEAT point guard Norris Cole.

Also assisting the Miami HEAT players at the event were executives from presenting sponsor Serenity Home Health Care and supporting sponsor Levy Restaurant.

Everyone involved felt a great sense of appreciation to be able to give back to the community, as Mickell Gladness stated, “When you get a chance to do a lot of stuff like this, when you give back to the community. It helps you realize even more how blessed we are to be in this position.” — at Community Partnership For The Homeless.
